IAS Beaulieu 40R unveiling at UK Audio Show 2023
19/09/23
Carl Beckwith - Audio Consultant, will be revealing the hotly anticipated new recreation of the iconic Integrated Audio Systems' Beaulieu loudspeaker system, launched back in 1980, but with significant advances to the design.
The newly launched IAS Beaulieu 40R loudspeaker system redefines state-of-the-art in transducer design: offering the lowest frequency extension of any stand-mount loudspeaker system available to date, as defined by the original 1980 Integrated Audio Systems' Beaulieu design, created by David Hall and the late Alan Willis in Southampton. Deploying Volt's specially recreated first-generation 10" low fs bass/midrange unit, SEAS midrange and Accuton ceramic treble, the new loudspeaker spares no expense by utilising the pinnacle in crossover componentry with a minimalist series-wired Duelund crossover that, combined with rigid bracing and minimal critical damping, affords the system a dynamic range that is largely unmatched elsewhere. Set on isolation pods with separate crossover stand and the highest grade copper connection posts with cotton-in-oil Duelund wiring, the signal transfer is given maximum integrity throughout the system, leading to electrostatic-like transparency, but with maximum, full-range bandwidth of uncompromising reach and dynamic impact.
